Your quilt will be an artistic fabric-collage based on the photograph you supply.

Choose several favorite photos of your pet and send them to us. Look for photos that convey your pet’s personality. The best photos for a quilt are those that are close ups showing their eyes clearly and that have great lighting, especially areas of lighter and darker on the pet. Also, the photo has to be “large” enough that when it is blown up to the final size of the quilt, it is still clear. Don’t worry about what else is in the photo, we will decide together what we will use as background.

Following receipt of a deposit for 50% of the total cost, we will begin to create the quilt. We use commercial and hand dyed fabrics, and batiks to create the quilt front. Once the “animal” is finished, we will communicate with you and decide together what we think looks best for the background. Some are pieced stripes or squares of fabric, others are collaged. Some prefer a solid color so that the pet really stands out. Color ideas for the background include your favorite colors, or colors that are good in the room where your quilt will hang, or colors that look best with the completed pet art itself. If you’d like, we can send pictures of the art process as it unfolds. Finally, the entire quilt is free motion quilted adding thread-painting highlights for whiskers and hairs. The quilt will include a sleeve on the back for hanging it on a wall.

After receiving payment of the balance and shipping fees, the quilt will be mailed to you. Because every quilt is made uniquely for you, there are no refunds of either the deposit or the final payment.
